Everybody has their favorite genre of book to read right? Some like the paranormal, some like romance, some like true crime....I could go on and on....but I won't. Me, I have pretty ecclectic tastes....If you hadn't figured that out all ready. I like a little bit of everything. If you look in the right hand corner of my blog to see what I'm currently reading (as of this posting) you will see that I am reading a book about Quanah Parker, earlier this year I read a book written by a porn star. Since starting my book blog and recieving review requests from authors, publishers, agents, etc. I have really started going outside my comfort zones and trying new genres.
Like for example, up until I started my book blog I had never read a thriller, much less a medical thriller. I didn't even now that the "medical thriller" sub-genre even exsisted. I guess change really is a good thing!
I know that there are many bloggers out there that like to stick to certain genre's on their blogs....which is totally awesome by the way, but my questions for you are: Do you have a strict genre(s) that you stick to? or are you a little bit like me and like to go outside your comfort zone and read a little bit of everything?

I generally stick to books written to or about women. For some reason the only book I can remember reading about a man was 'A Team of Rivals' by
Doris Kearns Goodwin which was about Abraham Lincoln. That's as close as I stick to any genre. I just love to read - romance, history, thriller, bio, mystery. Books are just my favorite thing.
So I'm right there with you - that's probably why I enjoy your blog - it's not stuck in a category.
I jump all over the place and love that you do too.
I have however found that I've outgrown general romance.
I like a little bit of everything, but tend to specifically stick to fiction on most days!
I am an eclectic reader but I do tend to stay with genre fiction. I love paranormals, romances, mysteries, science fiction, fantasy. You will almost never find me reading nonfiction, chick lit, or best sellers. I also seldom read classics or books that are categorized as "literature". I like my reading light and with a touch of romance.
Like Gina, I try to read books about or by women although I do jump around. I also jump around although there are a few genres I tend to avoid: poetry, novels in verse, very little non-fiction, very little literary fiction. Reading the various blogs out there has definitely helped me expand my reading.
I generally stick to the genres I like- Paranormal, UF, YA, Romance, Historical Fiction, Thriller/Suspense or Fantasy. Every time I venture out of my comfort zone, I tend to be disappointed. I totally stay away from nonfiction, self help (though goodness know I probably need to read these), classics or poetry. Reading is entertainment to me and should be fun. If I have to work real hard to read or enjoy a book, it generally won't get finished.
I tend to stick with YA and romance (contemporary and paranormal). Once in a while, I will step outside my comfort zone and read a memoir, non-fiction or thriller. I need to step outside of my comfort zone more often.
