Musings Monday #1

If your book group asked you to bring two (2) suggestions for group reads to your next meeting, what two books would you suggest? Why?

I'm not really a member of a book club....Wish I was but things happen.  If my book club asked me to bring 2 suggestions for books to read for the group I would suggest the following:

Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry - Not only is it my current read (that I am throughly enjoying) it's a book that is written like a true western should be (were you immediately become so immersed in what your reading that by the time you absolutely HAVE to quit reading you've read a couple hundred pages.)  Though this book is NOT for the faint of heart at 945 pages. Plus, I think it would make for interesting discussion!

Sinner Takes All by Tera Patrick - Ok to keep things from getting to blah in the book club why NOT suggest a memoir by an adult movie star?  I've read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think that it too would make for VERY interesting discussion!

I love Lonesome Dove the tv miniseries and didn't even think about it being a book. I'll have to add that one to my winter months TBR list.

Here's my MM:

I haven't read Lonesome Dove, but I've read other McMurtry books. It's time to dive in to this one!

Here's my Musing:

never read Lonesome Dove...or even saw the movie.
And I have never heard of Sinner Takes All...but then I guess that is the point of recommendations, right! ;-)

I love Lonesome Dove. It's one of my favorite books of all time. It of course would force me to read the rest of the series...not good. I'm compulsive that way.

I have never read Lonsome Dove, but if it is the one that was made into a movie, then I have seen the movie. If it is, then I probably wouldn't have read it. I have never read Sinner Takes All, but I am not a memoir type of reader. Here is my Musing For Monday
