I participated in this challenge last year when it was hosted by J. Kayes book blog. But it seems that J. Kaye is no longer blogging and I really wanted to do this challenge again so I thought that I would try my hand at hosting it.
1. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate. Just create a post for the challenge and link to your challenge post in the linky below.
--Non-Bloggers: Post your list of books in the comment section of the wrap-up post.
2. There are four levels to this challenge...Pick your poison:
--The Mini – Check out and read 30 library books.
--"Fun" Size – Check out and read 40 library books.
--Jumbo Size – Check out and read 50 library books.
--Mega Size – Check out and read 51+ library books.
(Aim high. As long as you read 30 by the end of 2011, you are a winner.)
3. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Young Reader – basically any book counts just as long as it is checked out from the library. Books MUST be checked out like with a library card, books purchased at a library DO NOT count.
4. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.
5. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.
6. Challenge begins January 1st 2011 and goes thru December 31 2011.

There are a lot of books on my TBR list that my libraries have so this challenge is perfect for me.
I currently have 44 outstanding holds on books at my library, so I'm pretty sure I can do this lol
awesome, count me in
This challenge is perfect for me because most of the books I read are taken out from the library!
As a librarian, I love this challenge. I would never be able to get all the books I want to read if libraries didn't exist. Count me in.
This challenge is so perfect for me and won't be a challenge at all! Because it's all free, I have terrible impulse control when it comes to ordering books through inter-library loan! Between working in a library and also being connected to over 50 libraries, I'm always ordering stacks of library books. Count. Me. In!
hooray,an easy-peasy challenge for me! I live almost next door to the library and am literally there every single day. Like, they see me walk in the door and they grab all my hold requests from behind the desk and have them all ready before I even get to the desk ;-)
I'm so happy someone is hosting this. I've thought about doing it as well, but have been so busy that haven't sat down and figured it all out! I will be participating!
I love this idea, a great way to get me using the library more instead of buying!
And I didn't do my link as a direct one to my challenge post- could it be changed or shall I post again?
HI! I have to get in, I love the library!

Would love to join this challenge -- thanks for hosting, Jamie!
that's the Mega 51+. BTW, Mr. Linky won't accept my blogsite info. Am I still considered signed up?
I love my local library, so I'm joining in -- "Fun" size (40 books) for me. ;)

OK, my first linjk is wrong. I forgot the post. Sigh.
I'm looking forward to this! :)
Thank you for doing this meme. I'm not really a book blogger, but I joined this challenge last year and really enjoyed it. I am writing a post that I'll link here as soon as I've published it.
I'm in! I've been waiting for this challenge to get posted again...just found you.
I used to do J. Kaye's but the numbers were too low or high for me - this is a perfect renewal of it! (renewal...get it...har...har)
Thanks for hosting this! Surfed here from Book Vixen
Thanks for hosting this challenge...I love borrowing books from the library! I'm hoping to meet my goal this year - I was 1 book short last year! Happy New Year!!!
Thanks for hosting - I'm excited to participate this time around!
As a Library Assistant, i LOVE this challenge, we need more people excited about Libraries, thanks :D
I love this challenge because I love my library. I'm going for "Fun Size". I'm posting my challenges on Thursday and this is definitely going on.
Nice! I am so in. I am a library junkie and addict, so it's perfect. I'm trying out the Mega! I figure I did it last year, since most of the books I read were library books... but we shall see how it goes.
Stupid me put the wrong link in my linky - here's the actual post, if necessary. :S

Thanks for hosting, this is a great challenge.
This is always one of my favorite challenges...plus, I really like the library here better than in the previous town I live in.
Yay! I'm in again!
Just one question. If I checked a book out in Dezember but read it in January, does it count for the Challenge?
January progress: 7 library books!

I ended up making a whole page for this challenge.

I have already posted a few reviews for this challenge tomy blog. Since I have only reviewed 5 of the 15 library books I have finished, I feel like such a slacker! All reviews for this challenges can be found here: http://wvredreads.blogspot.com/search/label/2011%20Support%20Your%20Local%20Library.
The books are:
1.Full Dark, No Stars by Steven King
2. Dark and Stormy Knights edited by P.N. Elrod
3. The Cloud Searchers by Kazu Kibuishi
