Eat Pray Love book club discussion #1

What preconceived notions do you have of the book as a first time reader? What have you heard about it? What do you anticipate going into it? Why do you want to read it?
When this book first came out I was going to check it out but after I read the synopsis of it it didn't really trip my trigger so I passed on it for the time being. But then I heard it was going to be made into a movie, starring Julia Roberts and I became interested again and THEN I found The Book Vixen's post about reading this book in a book club format. So I signed up. I downloaded it onto my Nook and I've been chomping at the bit for what feels like an eternity to get started reading.
What I've heard about the book is what I've read from other sources....It's gotten mixed reviews on Goodreads and I haven't really read anything about on the blogs that I follow until Book Vixen's post. Knowing that this book has gotten mixed reviews is actually kind of exciting for me....The best part is I get to formulate my own opinion of the book.
I don't really know what to expect going into this book. I just hope that I enjoy it. Why do I want to read it? Well, I've been seeing trailers of the movie for a little bit now and they really have me interested in not only reading the book but also seeing the movie. I can hardly wait to see it!

I'm not crazy about reading it but I'm really looking forward to the film.

I had heard that I probably wasn't going to like the book if I read it. So I picked it up in audio instead (yeah I am so the rebel)!

I want to see the movie too - I think when it comes out I am going to compare them on my blog. I am looking forward to this. So not a waste of my $13? I hope not.

I think most of us are in the same boat with this book: not knowing what to expect, but excited to read it! Glad to be sharing this read with you in the EPL book club this month! Happy reading!

Julia Roberts is one of the reasons I'm reading it too. It's one of those books that you have to read and see for yourself.

I read the book and I think its amazing. I could relate so much. Personally for me, the spiritual journey began when I took the "Art of Living Course" and since then I have experienced enhanced joy and peace of mind. I just thought I would share this, there is a stress reduction workshop happening at the Concordia University in Montreal this thursday evening. I am going. You should all come and experience how amazing it is. For more info, visit: www.destressmontreal.info
